Letter from the President – February 2020
Not much new happened in February. We are hoping for the monsoon season to take a vacation. The non-stop rain has delayed progress on the Five Forks/Route 14 Intersection. The rains have also caused some damage to our trails and bridges. Our Grounds committee has surveyed the damage but I will leave it to them to provide a more detailed report once the extent of damage is determined.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my thanks and gratitude to Kristen DiBattista, Brad Hagar, and Kelly Hesketh: Committee Chairpersons for our Clubhouse, Pool, and Tennis Courts respectively. All have decided to step down from their positions at the end of April. I want to thank them for their work and dedication over the past several years. Without their help, these neighborhood amenities would not be able to function. I have received some indication of willingness to take over the Clubhouse and Pool Committees in May. We are however in need of someone to take over the Tennis Committee. The HOA is also dependent on finding someone to fill the Vice President/President elect position. This position involves oversight of the various committees and presides over the monthly Board Meetings. Again, the election of these positions will be conducted at the Annual Meeting to be held on Sunday, April 19 at 6:00 pm in the River Walk Clubhouse.
In the March Newsletter, a slate of all returning Committee positions and those that have stepped up as potential candidates for Committees will be posted. If you have an interest in leading any of these positions, submit a short bio to the River Walk Secretary at Rwra.secretary@gmail,com The process for submitting proxy votes will be explained for those unable to attend the Annual Meeting in April. Our next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 2 at 7:00 pm at the clubhouse. All are not only welcome but encouraged to attend. I look forward to seeing you next month.
