July 2019 – Letter from The President

Not much new business this past month since we traditionally do not have a Board meeting in July.

Nevertheless, it has been a busy summer with a social calendar loaded with various activities. Without the volunteer effort of our HOA Board members, these functions and activities would not be possible. When the opportunity presents itself, please take time to thank those who make River Walk the great neighborhood it is.

I do want to take this opportunity to bring you up to date on a few items. Road work has commenced at the intersection of Routes 14 and 296 (Five Forks Road). My last communication with the DOT indicated once they resumed work they would continue until completed. Additionally, the entrance to Parkside Drive will be closed temporarily while they adjust the alignment into Five Forks Road. Not sure when this will occur but the DOT was hoping to get this part of the project completed before the start of the school year. Let’s keep our fingers crossed they follow through on this. Please be patient and use caution when traveling in his area.

I have been in touch with the Greenville County Sign Department. Earlier this year they posted signs at the trail crossing near the entrance on Parkside Drive. They also applied pavement strips in this same area. With the completion of resurfacing on Wolf Run, I have asked they look at the trail crossing there and erect signs and pavement strips as they determine appropriate. They will also review the four way stop at the intersection of River Walk Drive and River Walk Boulevard and apply new stop strips as needed.

Our next Board meeting is scheduled for August 5thand will be held at 7:00 pm at the clubhouse. All residents are welcome. If you haven’t attended a meeting you will find them to be most informative. Also, if you have any concerns, this is the forum to present them. We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting and enjoy the rest of summer.
